All Saints' Church Hertford

We are pleased to announce that The Reverend Simon Cutmore, currently Vicar of the benefice of Mill End and Heronsgate with West Hyde and Rural Dean of Rickmansworth, has been appointed as Incumbent Designate (Priest in Charge) of Hertford, All Saints.

He will be installed on Wednesday 4th September at 19.30. More details will be posted nearer the time.

Rev Simon Cutmore - Our Incumbent Designate

I am delighted that the announcement has been made that I am to be your new parish priest. I am excited to be joining you, but also sad to be leaving behind the communities of West Hyde, Maple Cross, Heronsgate and Mill End where I have ministered for the last 12 years.

I am married to Alex and we have three grown up children - Io (a graduate journalist and musician), Ben (an apprentice electrical engineer working in Formula One) and Peter (sitting A levels at the moment). We have 2 cockerpoo dogs - Pip and Peggy.

I grew up in Lancashire and I am an exiled Preston North End fan. I'm half Scots, so to keep the balance, I support Scotland at rugby and England at cricket.

After a theology degree in Bristol, I worked as a church youthworker in Maisons-Laffitte just outside Paris and it was from there I was sent to be formed for ministry at Cranmer Hall in Durham. I have served in Biggleswade, Hemel Hempstead and currently in Rickmansworth where I am also Rural Dean and co-ordinate our Diocesan links with the Diocese of Linkoping in Sweden.

I love cooking, a good pub, walking, camping, malt whisky, (particularly contemporary) art, theatre and going to the cinema. I have a very wide taste in music (classical, jazz, pop, ambient, alternative, rock) but my real loves are progressive rock and metal.

We are really looking forward to being with you soon and seeing what God will call us to as we seek to faithfully follow Him.
